Built specifically with commercial market farmers and nurserymen in mind, this model is tailored to the requirements of its large 33" tiller. This is our largest two-wheel tractor. While it has the ability to operate a full range of attachments, its design is oriented toward the tilling needs of commercial market farmers and nurserymen. The variable-width (33”– 27”) tiller can prepare acres of seedbed in a reasonable length of time and cultivate even more. Special gear reduction mechanisms on the wheel axles enable the large 22” diameter tires to achieve ground speeds ideal for both primary and secondary tillage.
Like the other models in our Professional Series, the 948 has differential drive -- the ability of one tractor wheel to turn faster or slower than the other. This provides “turn-on-a-dime” maneuverability and is a virtual must if you want to mow around individual trees and/or get close to things. Differential drive makes all turning easy, whether it’s the tiller at the end of your row, the snow thrower at the end of the driveway, etc.
